My Child, My Friend

Word of the Day
My Child, have you forgotten how simple it is to hear My voice, to feel My breath blow across your heart? Why are you so downcast about some of the aspects of your life when I am for you? Concentrate on all the beautiful things I have done and those in need of repair will be infiltrated with new faith and possibility.

This assault of condemnation and anxiousness you’re feeling is not from Me (Philippians 4:6, Romans 8:28-39). I am your friend—your very best friend (John 15:15). My relationship with you is not like anyone else’s. Our relationship is unique and precious. No one else can ever have the type of friendship we have. There are expressions of My love that can only be experienced by you.

Yes it is true that I love all My sons and daughters the same. However, I love them in individual unique ways according to how I fashioned them. It is the same with you who are fearfully and wonderfully made in an exceptional way.

You and I together create a distinctive expression of beauty, belonging only to us. There is not one person who has ever lived, or ever will live, capable of creating our chemistry. You and I together . . . well, we are awesome. Yes, I am your dearest friend and I want you to know it—to live in the knowledge of this truth. Let your thoughts dwell on these words and be.

Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name” (John 15:13-16 NIV).

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for concentrating on negative things and forgetting the wonderful blessings in my life. I choose to think on what is lovely, upright and true. The truest of all is Your Word. As I read the Word let it penetrate into my heart and cause faith to spring up. All things are possible with You. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Let me see the beauty of our communion and what it produces. You are my dearest friend and I will dwell on all You say and who You say I am. Amen

Reflect and Journal

  1. In what ways have you let the trials and struggles of your life drown out His voice?
  2. Consider the fact you are unique to the point that it is impossible for the Lord to relate with anyone else in the way He relates with you. You are that unique. Reflect and respond with love to the Lover of your soul.
