My Confession
I wrote this prayer/declaration for a friend and in the process, realized I needed it myself. I have included the following portion under God’s Whispers because I needed it this morning and Holy Spirit was faithful to remind me of it. Isn’t it good to be convicted so we can be free and move on.
So many times we concentrate on where we fail, or what we are not. I decided it was time to agree with my Father in Heaven about who He says I am. Sometimes the words of encouragement and advice we give others are just as much for us as anyone else.
This is very true in my case as I sit here this morning frustrated for losing my cool over a pair of school shoes left setting out in the rain. I could justify my frustration by telling you how many times I have reminded him not to do so, but I won’t. Well, I guess I just did. Darn!!
Time to Catch another breath, breathe deep, ask for forgiveness, receive forgiveness and move on.
Jesus
According to Your Word Lord, Jesus I am a king and priest, washed by Your blood. My heart is a heart of flesh, soft and pliable, held within the palm of Your hand. You have cupped Yourself around me and have become my rear guard.
Though the storms rage and anxious thoughts beat like battering rams desiring entrance, my mind is stayed on You. Every intruding thought I have taken captive for all my thoughts and meditations are on You.
I think on what is lovely, upright and true, letting no unwholesome word come out of my mouth. My mouth is anointed with kindness and its words supply grace and edification to the hearer.

“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it” (Eph 4:29 Amplified)
