Forsake Assumption And Speculation

Word of the Day
Did you know assumption is the belief that something is true without proof, based on perceived circumstances or runaway thoughts? Assumption gives way to deeper speculation, in spite of firm evidence, forming a hypothesis through an engaged mental process. This sounds complicated doesn’t it? It isn’t. Simply said, “You are forming patterns based on wrong beliefs and only I know the heart of any matter or any man.”

Once a hypothesis is formed, it becomes truth to you, regardless of accuracy. All inner turmoil can be avoided when you call on My name in the day of trouble (Psalms 50:15 Psalms 87:6). Trouble is simply anything robbing you of your peace or faith, from the sublime to the catastrophic. The key is to stay in a place of communion, thereby, avoiding the schemes and subtleties of the devil, which lead to discouragement and an accusatory spirit toward you or others.

Thoughts allowed to run rampant and unchecked affect your, mind, your will and your emotions, causing actions harmful in any given situation. Take them captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). The more a negative process is followed, the less you trust Me, relying on your own abilities and intuitions. This never works for the good.

Remember and be encouraged. I see your trouble before it arrives, and I am listening for your request, poised to defend you and meet any need from on high. Receive this revelation today and prohibit future struggles. Imagine Me ready and waiting for your request, and meditate on the significance of My presence. Now that you have imagined, believe becasue I am already at your side ready and willing. Read Complete Love Letter…
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me. (Psalms 50:15 NASB)

In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You, For You will answer me. (Psalms 87:6 NASB)
Prayer
I lay aside all speculation, assumption and vain imaginations. I take them captive and hear only Your voice on the matter. I call upon Your name in any trouble or threat of trouble and You send help. You alone can look upon the heart of any man or matter. I do not have a spirit of fear, but love, power and a sound mind. I am at perfect peace for I have let go of anything that offends me.

Today I pull aside to be in communion with You and form a habit of abiding in Your very presence. In Your presence there is fullness of joy no matter what goes on around me. You see the path ahead and are prepared to defend me in any situation. Today I put my heart aright in all things. I can see You ready and waiting. I come to You and You are there. Amen

Reflect and Journal:
1. Have you made speculations and assumptions outside of the clear and discernable voice of the Lord? Confess them and replace them with prayers for wisdom and clear discernment.

2. Any hypothesis built on wrong assumptions etc. must be treated like a strong man and torn down through the power of the Word, through the power of the blood. Take time to do this.

3. Reflect on the fact He is waiting with a heart of anticipation to help you in any area of trouble, disappointment etc. Turn around as a prophetic gesture and face Him with your request, your need.

  1. 1. I know I have made assumptions and speculations about other people without really knowing them. Their actions and speech are not always in proper accord with circumstances. I would have no way of knowing what prompts the responses to a situation that presents itself. How wonderful that I can turn to the Lord for peaceful solutions and more understanding in any given situation. He understands.

    2. I am trying to “think” through this process when I make an assumption, that something may be ‘bothering” this person in the terms of family, money and job, or something else entirely. God is my witness, as I try to use His Word, His presence and His love towards the situation.

    3. I know, though I don’t always act upon the influence of the Word and His interaction in any given circumstances of disorder. This is where praying constantly and asking for guidance is so important in our daily lives. His closeness and my discipline in my words and actions should bear directly on how He would handle it. He is my Mentor…my Helper in all I do and say.
