Meditate Day and Night

Word of the Day
Beloved, even though you are born again, you have developed—through the substance and circumstances of your life—many wrong concepts and beliefs which need to be redeemed, transformed, and conformed to My truth. This is where My Word comes in. You must meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8). Think on it when you lie down and when you rise up. My Word must become more necessary than your physical bread (Matt. 4:4). It is the answer and has all the answers you need.

Remember it all starts with thoughts which are generated by what you feed your mind. Feed your mind, your soul and your spirit the Word and you will have much ammunition to fight the good fight of faith and overcome (1Timothy 6:12).

On the other hand, the enemy does like to come and speak in first person, leading you to believe all those ungodly ideas and attitudes stem solely from you. When this happens, ask Holy Spirit if the enemy does indeed have anything in you on which to make his accusations. If so, repent, receive forgiveness and shut the door by confessing what I have done with the words of your mouth.

As the days come and go in your life I release an understanding of the living attributes and power of My Word, enabling you to walk in more freedom. It is an inoculation of truth, liberty and power. When you ingest the Word, through verbal and mental agreement, it is empowered by Holy Spirit becoming a sharp double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12).

It searches the depths of your being, revealing every thought (1 Cornithians 2:9-12). It moves deep into the places of your soul and spirit, dividing and cutting asunder hindrances, long held beliefs and habits of the soul. The Word confronts lies believed by your soul, cuts them, removes them and inserts itself in the place of wrong mindsets and beliefs. It transforms you and turns pride into humility. Let go and embrace your new status in Me—as status of being always made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). I desire it so.

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8 NIV).

Prayer
Lord, I trust You to show me where life’s circumstances and relationship with others have caused me to have wrong belief systems about You and about life. Forgive my lack of discipline to meditate on Your Word in a persistent and consistent way. I pray that my heart would be open to the revelation of the power of Your Word and not take it so lightly. I want to desire Your Word like I desire the food I eat.

Many times I have listened to the voice of the enemy and taken it as my own, believing the things he says about me more than I believe You. I want to be quick to hear You in the midst of his accusations whether they are in thought or through the words of others. Teach me to first ask You if the words have anything in me . . . to ask if somehow I have opened a door to the accusation. I so want my heart to be one quick to repent and just as quick to receive Your forgiveness without walking in guilt and condemnation.

Today I receive the fullness of the power of Your Word and the liberty it offers, the liberty it creates when I hide it in my heart. I will not be afraid to let it confront the issues of my heart and in the process they will be cut away. I put away the old man and embrace the truth . . . the truth that I am new in You. Old things have passed away and I have become new. I am becoming new moment by moment. I am new in You. Amen

Reflect and Journal:

  1. Have you been disciplined in meditating on His Word or does it seem too difficult to do? If it seems to difficult, maybe you are looking at biting off too much at one time. Consider taking just one or two verses in relation to an area you wish to overcome and start with them. Don’t try to eat the whole elephant at one time. Take it bite by bite.
  2. What have you been feeding your mind? There are many ways to renew your mind, such as, worship, meditation on the Word, reading the Word out loud, fellowship with others, relaxing in His presence while listening to music (soaking), listening to CDs. How much of this are you doing in relation to TV, sports, or any other kind of entertainment? Entertainment in itself is not bad (if it is not ungodly) but can take the place of being with Him.
  3. Do you have the tendency to believe most or every accusation the enemy whispers in your ear is who you are or what you do
  4. Reflect and meditate (to consider, to mummer or speak) on the following scriptures and let the truth sink into your heart. Write a love note to Him and let Him respond with His love.
  5. “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Gal. 2:20)
  6. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.(2 Corinthians 5:17KJV)

  1. “i have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ in me…”

When the Father sent His only Son to fulfill the work of Redemption, Jesus paid the price for all my sins. He regained the Kingdom because of the Father’s infinite love for His children. Not content to just the redeeming act of His Son Jesus, He leaves the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier to be our Comforter.

How great Your love for us dear Father!

How marvelous Your ways! How unconditional Your love dear Jesus that You live not just with me but in me… so perfect Your love that my finite being cannot comprehend Your infinite love. Empower me that I live worthy of the Blood You shed for me. Indeed, no greater love there is than Yours!

  2. please keep me in your prayers. I am tired of walking with my head down. I sometimes fines myself walking with my head down and walking in shame and condemnation. please keep me in your prayers. thank you.
