You Did Not Choose Me, I Chose You First

Word of the Day
You must believe and you must know that I never abandon My friends. Remember, you did not choose Me but I chose you and what a pleasure it was and still is (John 15:16). I still remember the day with such fondness. What a wonderful day it was and continues to be. The beauty of a rising sun can’t begin to express the delight I experience at sharing yet another day, another moment with you. You are what I died for, what I intercede for, what I live for.

The Aurora Borealis with all its splendor and extravagant expression of color can’t even begin to demonstrate the bursting forth of My love for you. My love flashes a vehement jealous flame for you. You were in Me before anything ever was. I cradled the promise of your life within the loins of My great love. I chose you, fashioned you, appointed you and I take this very seriously.

I see your life like a beautiful vineyard full of many clusters of grapes full of the sweetest wine. Others see grapes on a vine. I see like a wine of intoxicating flavor and bounty able when shared to touch the hardest heart with My indwelling love. You see all the hard edges, all the incomplete places and focus on them. I focus on the good and change the rest from a perspective of enduring faith. You see your failures and I see your potential. You are My most precious friend. Come and sit in the vineyard of My love today and drink from My presence and be changed. I love you.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name” (John 15:16 NIV).

Prayer
Lord, before the worlds were formed You chose me, planned for me and made a way for me. I am like a beautiful rising sun to You and my name is engraved in the palm of Your hand. You count every hair on my head and have numbered my days. You see the beginning and the end; therefore, You are not dismayed or impatient with me. My life is like a full-bodied wine to You, invigorating and full of life drawn from the vine.

Soften every hard edge in my personality, in my thinking and in my doing, enabling me to serve You with a heart of realized love. Lord, I come to sit in Your vineyard and drink from the cup of love and purpose with You today. I am Yours and You are mine.

Reflect and Journal

  1. He remembers the day you found Him, the day you heard His call, with great fondness and love. Take some time to reflect on the day you met Him and how you felt? Write a letter of love in response to your memories of meeting Him and let Him write back to you.
  2. What hard edges of your life are you focusing on? Be willing to meditate on the beautiful things He has done and respond with thankful joy.
