The Overshadowing Of The Lord
Beloved, the long shadows of your life and past always try to encroach on your freedom, always try to encroach in on who you are in Christ. Nothing has changed as far as the enemy of your soul is concerned. It is always his desire to overshadow your life in any way he can. If he can overshadow one aspect and get your attention focused on it and not on Me, he has accomplished a great victory. He moves on with the intention of pulling you into his way of thinking and doing…with the intention of convincing you to believe contrary to all you know to be true.
The enemy wants to be the overshadowing…the covering over your life and moves to do so one aspect at a time until you are distracted by your own woes or your own abilities to succeed. He doesn’t care how he does it so long as it works. All the while I have provided a stable and fixed place under the shadow of My Presence…a place no foe can withstand (Psalms 91:1)
Distraction is indeed a big weapon in the enemy’s arsenal…even the distraction of doing what looks to be wonderful things. The enemy doesn’t care if you are overburdened by activities. He knows being a doer first and foremost is a death knell to intimacy resulting in an absence of true wisdom and revelation.
Once distraction takes place, the enemy then endeavors to get you to resolve your situation in your own might and power. He even does this by convincing you to do religious things all the while making you think you are wholly dependent on the truth. What a liar and father of all lies he is. Religion will never get you anywhere. He knows it; but, to many people it sounds good. Religious activities can keep you so busy that intimacy is often forsaken. In fact, religious activities are often seen as intimacy by the O’ so dutiful ones. Duty is not bad. Self-sufficiency in the name of religion is.
Come into a place of rest and put to end all striving to achieve what I have already given you. Come into rest and intimacy. Come and be with Me.
I Listen To You My Well-Pleasing One
Beloved, I have come to you today to open some more layers of truth and dismantle any overshadowing from the enemy through lies, wrong self-perception, pride or fear. I have come to give you life abundant this moment. Before you receive keep this in mind, Rome wasn’t built in a day. They didn’t quit building because it couldn’t be done in a day. Don’t think about how you have done this before and haven’t seen the change or fulfillment you long for. Why not try a whole new way looking at things? Why not just assume (to do so would be the 100% correct thing to do) a good thing will take place…assume help has come and progress is made whether you see it immediately or not?
Take a moment…take some time and take your focus off the distractions around you and say, “I receive help from on high. I receive the truth and the uncovering of lies which prevent me from walking in the goodness of the Lord. Take a moment and say, “I am well-pleasing to the Lord who loves me and listens to me.”
This very moment the overshadowing from the enemy in the areas of lies, wrong self-perception, pride and fear are being removed and replaced by the overshadowing presence of the Lord. I trust the Lord more than I did a moment ago for the Presence of the Lord has changed me.”
Be encouraged My beloved ones. I am right now honoring your confession and obedience to My request. My canopy…My overshadowing of light and love is increasing over you. I am freeing you to walk as one who is created in My image…to walk as one in whom I am well pleased (Matthew 17:5).
Shadows, Strength, Deserts, And Water Producing Rocks
Beloved, I desire for you to only be overshadowed by My Presence and not by any lies of the enemy. I am the Son light and even now I desire for you to look up and set your face toward me and not your circumstances. Look to Me from whence your help comes, (Psalms 121:1-3). This help I give is not just help in times of trouble. This help I speak of is one tailor made for you and your needs. What does help actually mean? Have you ever pondered its depth of meaning…probably not? Let me help you out.
Yes, Help is something given to make the things you cannot or were never meant to do alone easier with the assistance of another person; thus, I am the helper. To help someone is to give them wisdom and advice relevant to the current need in order to bring about improvement to unpleasant or unfortunate situations…to bring well-timed knowledge in order to proceed or make progress in fulfillment of your dreams and plans as you walk out an expression of My life. Help lightens the load and makes impossible things possible…makes unlikely things likely…makes a way where there is no way…makes a way in the wilderness (Isaiah 43:19).
Beloved, creeks flow into waterfalls only to cascade down the mountains and feed into the rivers of natural life…to feed the wilderness places. These rivers of abundance provide sustenance in myriads of ways…in different ways according to specific needs. What one species needs another may not; yet, all need the basic building blocks of life which I provide…all need the same and yet all need something different…all, like the sparrow need unique help tailor made to cascade from My heart. So do you.
I am your river in the desert place. I am He who girds you with strength and makes your way perfect (Psalms 18:32). I am He who quenches your thirst and gives you all you need to endure to the very end (Isaiah 48:21). Though circumstances and situations may not change instantly or even quickly, I have given you everything you need to overcome. I the Overcomer live in you. What you feel, think or experience do not determine the validity of who you are in Me…of who I am in you.
You are Mine and I am yours. Nothing can separate us. Nothing ever will. I am your ever-present God in every situation and in every season. Come and drink from the Rock and receive rivers of living water…come let the Me, the Rock in you, bubble up with help eternal.
Come And Sit Under The Apple Tree With Me
Beloved, I am here today to help you solve everything from the simple to the complex. Do not be fooled by the simple tasks you need to accomplish for in their simplicity it is often easy to do the first thing that comes to mind. It is important to receive My wisdom and help in every area. You are a born again recipient of the Holy Spirit who leads and guides you into all truth. Let Me guide you into some truth today. Agree with Me. Do not look for answers or help to always be the proverbial carrot out there in front of you…always waiting to be discovered. I am an ever-present help, or you could say, “I am a continual fountain of help which never ceases to flow.”
Come sit under the apple tree with Me…come and savor the sweet crisp taste of My Presence. Did you know apples help regulate blood sugar and blood pressure and have been considered the “King of Fruits.” The juice of apples can even regulate heart burn. Do you feel the pressure of the times and circumstances? Do you have spiritual heart burn? Like apples in the natural heal on a natural level, time in My Presence heals both the natural and the spiritual. Selah (Meditate)
Beloved, I know it is sometimes hard to take the time to sit under the apple tree with Me but you really need to if you want to excel and achieve the desires of your heart….if you want to experience the sweetness of My nature…if you want to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. It is a must if you want to stay steadfast and immovable in a rapidly changing world intent on robbing your peace in order to bring anxiety and fear into your heart and life. Being with Me is like eating apples in the natural.
Remember, I am Goodness. Remember, take refuge under the shadow of My wings and eat…take refuge and be filled with the fruit of My vine. Let the river of My heart called “help” flow into your life today so that it can carve new riverbeds for life giving waters to flow. Don’t get stuck going down the same old paths or rivers because of misconceptions or because you have always done it that way before. My help, like My mercy, is new every morning…new every moment. Won’t you let Me help you…assist you today?
Help Wanted And The Finished Work Of The Cross
Beloved, no matter whether you are rejoicing or in pain…no matter whether you are confused or resolute…no matter if you are obedient or disobedient My help is available. After all, I Am that I Am and nothing has changed. I am in you and you are in Me. How simple yet, how profound. Many times you cry out for more of Me. I am delighted when you do so because it represents the desire of your heart for the one you love; Me.
Actually you already have all of Me you will ever have. When I came to live in you, I did not bring just a portion of Me with the intent to bring the rest when you measured up more…when you somehow became better by fulfilling the law or religious duties. When I came, I came with all of Me. I came with all and I mean all.
Beloved, it is not more of Me that you need. What you really need is the revelation of what you already have; all of Me in the fullness of life and resurrection while you are yet living (Philippians 3:9-12). When you hung out your help wanted sign I answered. I answered and you said, “Yes!” At that moment all was finished forever, regardless which means in spite of…no matter what…in any case…anyhow…and in spite of or ignoring setbacks, hindrances or problems (c.f. Encarta Dictionary). Selah
Yes, it is finished. No, I am not far off (John 19:30). As I have told you so many times, “I am near…I am nigh unto your heart.” I saw your “Help Wanted” sign and drew near to you…I chose you first (John 15:16). My breath is upon your neck. My voice is whispering in your ear, “Have faith for I have overcome and so have you.”
Prayer of Supplication and Declaration
Lord, today I give you thanks…today I give you praise for You are the love of My life and the truth that sets me free. I set my affections on things above and choose not to believe any negative past or present circumstance has the power to determine the outcome of my life. I look to You, the author and finisher of my faith, not anything or anyone else. I will not allow the enemy of my soul to cause me to focus my attention on myself, my past failures or successes. My focus is on You Lord. I choose to not be distracted by my own mistakes or abilities to succeed. I recognize that distraction is a big weapon the enemy desires to use against me. I will not allow myself to become overburdened with activities, especially religious ones.
My heart’s desire is to draw close to You and nothing else. I will not allow our intimacy to be robbed by being too busy to spend time with You Lord. I close my eyes to the distractions around me. I praise You as I receive help from on high. I come and rest in the all-sufficiency of Your name and in Your Word. It is not by might or by power but by Your Spirit that all things are accomplished. Therefore, I come into rest.
Lord, I so desire for you to peel away the layers of lies and deceptions I have believed which hide or overshadow the truth about my life and the beauty You have already deposited in me. May all wrong self-perception be removed from the eyes of my heart. I do not want to see myself in negative ways, nor do I want to see myself through rose colored glasses when it comes to the attitudes and motives of my heart. However, I do want to see myself as You do, born again in Christ of incorruptible seed. My past failed attempts to overcome have no bearing on the future unless I embrace them instead of embracing the Word of Truth.
I am changing and growing daily in knowledge and understanding of the Lord. My heart is being transformed into the likeness of the Lord in all I do and say. Progress is being made moment by moment. I dwell in the overshadowing Presence of the Lord at all times. He is my covering. The enemy of my soul is a liar. My soul is being sanctified daily as I submit myself to the Lord. I am in Him and He is in me always.
Lord, you are the Light of the world and the Light of my heart. You never shift or change. There is no shadow of turning in You; therefore, when You came to dwell in Me, the complete Light of Your Presence came without variation. You are with me and for me in the good and the bad without variance, for You are constant and steady. You do not faint or grow weary and Your help is ever-present and ever-ready to be taken advantage of. My help truly comes from You.
Let the creeks, rivers and streams of Your heart cascade Your help into my life with abundance and hope. I praise You in my need for it is an opportunity to experience the goodness of Your heart in the drought places of my heart. You never cease releasing Your ever-flowing fountain of grace and mercy. How wonderful You truly are. There is none like You.
Today and every day after, I position myself to receive from the river of Your heart all that it provides. It is Your help continually flowing into my life every day which sustains me. Thank You for carving new riverbeds for the life giving waters to flow in and through me. As a tree planted by the river, my leaves will never wither. Thank You for being my ever-present help, flowing deeply within me right now and for all eternity.

Lord, I praise You that You have made it possible for me to take all You have offered regardless of the situation. Your help is not situational when it comes to the Believer. I am born again. I am a child of the Father. This is what matters. Even when I am acting unbecoming and sometimes rebellious, Your love never changes. You are attentive to the sound of My voice. Not only are You always near to me, You are in me, Christ the hope of all glory. As I draw near to You in my thoughts and actions, You draw near to me in visible and manifest ways. As the leaves of a tree respond to the winds and sing a rustling song, so my heart responds to the movement of Your Spirit.
Lord, you have sent ministering angels…breakthrough angels on my behalf to do Your will. You have answered every “Help Wanted” sign I have cried out to You. As we walk together…as I walk with You…abide in You, the darkness around me will be permeated with Your light. Together we will light up the darkness. The work of the Cross is finished and the resurrection life of Christ is in me, for I am an overcomer for the Overcomer truly lives in me. No setback, no hindrance, no problem…not even death can separate me from the finished, revelatory work of the Cross. My heart is open to the nearness of the Lord and is attentive to the sound of His voice. I have drawn near to the Lord and He has drawn near to me.
Reflect and Journal
HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand] (Psalms 91:1 Amplified)
1. Are you aware of any long shadows or things in your past that hinder your freedom in the Lord? Write what those areas might be and find His answer in the Word.
2. List any obvious (common) distractions that have kept you from drawing closer to the Lord.
3. Are you willing to close your eyes to any distractions around you that keep you from receiving the help from on high the Lord has in store for you? Write what you can do on a practical level to accomplish this. Maybe you should start with just a few minutes a day…starting somewhere is what matters.
4. Be patient with yourself, knowing Rome wasn’t built in a day; celebrate the little changes in your life. Write down changes you have already seen and changes you are hoping to see in your life. Writing down where you have already changed builds faith.
5. Take a moment to say, “I receive help from on high!” Close your eyes. Meditate on Him coming to you in order to bring what you need. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him. He does not give stones in place of bread. Now see Him bringing you the answer. What is it…a picture…a Scripture…a promise…a song remembered….do not limit Him…listen and wait.
6. Do you see yourself as well pleasing to the Lord? He lives in you…you are born again and are a new creature in Christ. If He were to be displeased with you, He would have to be displeased with Himself. Selah (meditate) and write a note of love and thanks to the Father for seeing you always in Christ.
7. Where does your help come from? Are you fully dependant on His help, or are you self-reliant in some ways? Where do you find yourself being self-reliant most often?
8. Define what you think help is. Do you trust the Lord to be faithful to really come through and help you no matter what?
9. Are you willing to let God direct you and lead you into all truth? Since God is your help, are you willing to let go of things you so tightly hold on to allowing Him to help carry the load while giving you much needed wisdom?
10. How do you feel about asking God to help you with even the simple tasks you need to accomplish? Are you willing to humble yourself and acknowledge your needs and ask for God’s help? Reflect and write down your answers.
11. In what ways have you seen the Lord’s help in futuristic ways and not ever-present. Look up the words help, ever and present. Write the definitions down and then write a declarative love note about the Lord’s ever-present help in your life.
12. Where do you have the most “heart burn” in your life? Take your heart burn and turn it into intercession and ask for help…ask for well-timed help. Take time to listen.
13. How has the Lord demonstrated His goodness to you in both the big and small?
14. Describe what you believe about the ministering angels the Father has given to you and how they relate to you and your walk with the Lord.
15. Have you been putting up help wanted signs for the Lord? In what areas do you desire help in your life?
16. Examine the definition for “regardless of” and ponder how you have let any of the exceptions such as hindrances, set-backs or problems limit what you believe God can and wants to do?
17. Do you think being obedient or disobedient has any bearing of Christ in you the hope of glory? Is Christ diminished by your behavior? In other words…is Christ an ever changing chameleon due to something you do or don’t do, or is He unchanging and ever-present to do abundantly beyond what you could ever imagine regardless of your behavior? If He is a chameleon, then you have power greater than God which is impossible. We must be careful to not reduce God to our own understanding being careful to not use grace as an excuse to sin. However, we must remember He conquered sin and lives in and has made us perfect in Him.
